Position Overview:

 

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead human resources initiatives for our operations in the Netherlands, supporting Hanwha’s transition into a global EPCI(O) solution provider. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Dutch and European labor regulations, particularly Dutch labor law, and extensive experience in a multi-cultural business environment.

 

The HR Manager will play a key role in developing HR policies, workforce planning, employee relations, talent acquisition, and compensation & benefits. This role will ensure compliance with local labor laws, support organizational development, and drive HR best practices aligned with Hanwha’s global operations.

 

This position requires close collaboration with global teams, occasional travel within Europe and Asia, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, international environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement performance evaluation frameworks for probationary and permanent employees, ensuring a structured approach to talent management.
  • Drive succession planning and high-potential talent development initiatives tailored to the European workforce.
  • Support managers with employee performance feedback and professional development planning.
  • Design and maintain competitive pay structures, incentive schemes, and benefits programs aligned with Dutch and European market standards.
  • Oversee payroll operations, ensuring compliance with Dutch tax laws, pension schemes, and year-end adjustments.
  • Manage expatriate compensation packages and benefits administration.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations, ensuring compliance with Dutch labor laws and European employment standards.
  • Provide guidance to management on labor relations, employment contracts, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee performance management programs, including probationary reviews, disciplinary processes, and internal investigations.
  • Ensure adherence to Dutch labor laws, EU employment standards, and internal corporate HR procedures.
  • Develop and enforce HR policies tailored to regional requirements, while ensuring integration with global corporate HR standards.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and act as a key liaison for Dutch employment authorities, labor inspectors, and external auditors.

Qualifications:

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, PHR, or equivalent) is preferred.

 

Experience

  • 10+ years of HR management experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, Energy, Engineering, or EPCI(O) sectors.
  • Strong expertise in Dutch labor law, employment contracts, and European HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage HR operations, compensation strategy, and organizational development.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural, global environments, particularly in Europe.
  • Track record of leading talent acquisition, expatriate management, and HR governance.

 

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Dutch labor law and European HR regulations.
  • Expertise in workforce planning, HR policy development, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to work in complex, matrixed international organizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using HR data and metrics for decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; Dutch or another European language is a strong advantage.

 

Work Authorization

  • Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the Netherlands before applying.
