Position Overview:
The Information Engineer is responsible for managing, coordinating, and ensuring the integrity, quality, and timely availability of project data across all phases of the project. This role supports project delivery by developing and enforcing information management procedures, ensuring compliance with client requirements, and enabling structured, validated information handover for operations and digital twin readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Project Information Manager to interpret client requirements and translate them into project-specific data and information specifications.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Engineering Data Management Procedure, ensuring alignment and compliance across all engineering disciplines.
- Define and oversee the Vendor Data Collection Process, covering submission, validation, integration, and preparation of vendor deliverables.
- Collaborate with IM system Administration to configure and maintain project databases and tools in line with project needs.
- Support the deployment and operation of the project information systems.
- Act as the focal point for Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Completions, and Vendor teams to clarify data requirements and secure compliance.
- Enforce consistent application of tagging, numbering, and governance rules across all project data and documentation.
- Regularly check, analyze, and validate project data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
- Provide timely progress updates and performance reports on project data status to management and stakeholders.
- Manage the structured handover of information and documentation to the client in line with contractual and procedural requirements.
- Contribute to project close-out by preparing IM performance reports and identifying opportunities for improving methodologies and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Management, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in EPC/EPCI projects, preferably in the oil & gas or FPSO sector.
- Knowledge of engineering data management standards, IM best practices, and digital twin concepts.
- Experience with engineering information systems.
- Strong understanding of vendor data processes, document control, and engineering workflows.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a project-driven environment.
