Position Overview

 

The CMS Planning Engineer (Lead) focuses on integrating Construction Management Systems (CMS) and digital tools into construction project planning and control processes. The engineer ensures accurate development and input of construction activities and technical details for work breakdown definition, scheduling, resource management, materials/equipment delivery management, and real-time progress tracking using advanced digital platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Implement digital workflows for construction activity planning, reporting, and control.
  • Integrate BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 4D/5D planning tools for visualization.
  • Configure, update, and manage CMS for project planning and progress monitoring.
  • Ensure data consistency between CMS, ERP systems, and scheduling tools.
  • Automate reporting dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, risks, and performance gaps.
  • Generate real-time dashboards and KPI reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM) and predictive analytics for forecasting.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and IT to ensure seamless digital adoption.
  • Train team members on CMS and digital planning tools.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide insights based on data analytics.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails within CMS.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling with exposure to digital tools and CMS, with focus on large-scale infrastructure/energy projects (onshore or offshore)
  • Proficiency in construction/project management software and scheduling tools
  • Familiarity with BIM, Power BI, Tableu, and other cloud-based collaboration tools
  • Strong understanding of construction workflows and digital transformation
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Professional certifications project controls or digital tools preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards for BIM preferred
