Position Overview:
As a Regional HR Generalist for Hanwha Ocean’s U.S. offshore operations, you will take on a hands-on, execution-focused role, supporting all HR activities, ranging from compliance with U.S. federal and Texas labor laws to day-to-day employee relations while working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to support our U.S. HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee, support, and execute HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, HR policies, and employment law compliance.
- Ensure adherence to federal, Texas state, and local labor regulations, proactively addressing compliance matters, including workplace disputes and legal challenges.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with corporate and regional objectives.
- Handle compliance-related investigations and work with legal counsel to mitigate risks.
- Oversee employer branding initiatives to position Hanwha Ocean as an employer of choice in the U.S. market.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and employment-related legal matters, including discrimination claims.
- Ensure compliance with EEO, anti-discrimination, and workplace harassment laws, conducting internal investigations and addressing grievances effectively.
- Implement and oversee performance management programs, providing guidance to managers and employees on performance development.
- Develop and promote engagement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
- Partner with senior leadership to drive workforce planning and organizational development strategies.
- Provide guidance on compensation, benefits, and total rewards strategies to ensure competitive positioning in the U.S. market.
- Lead HR projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and employee experience.
- Manage HR-related office functions, including contracts with HR service providers, benefits administrators, and legal compliance.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external HR vendors and consultants.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of HR experience, with a focus on HR operations and compliance in the U.S. market.
- Proven track record in supporting HR functions for a growing organization, preferably in the energy, engineering, or offshore sectors.
- Strong expertise in U.S. federal and Texas state labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
- Experience in workforce planning and employee relations.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. and Texas employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across cultures and teams.
- Ability to manage multiple HR priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with HRIS and data-driven decision-making in HR operations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support business needs.
