Position Overview

The Civil & Structural Engineer under the guidance of a Principal Engineer, delivers discipline engineering work for foundations, grading, drainage, underground networks, concrete structures, and plant support infrastructure.

The role is accountable for preparing technically sound deliverables, coordinating interfaces, and supporting project decisions from design development through construction support where applicable. Also contributes to reliable execution by applying engineering judgement, code awareness, and practical solutions.

The position supports site and facility readiness by integrating civil, geotechnical, or foundation requirements with structural design, construction methodology, drainage, underground systems, and long-term operability considerations. It is expected to provide technically sound and buildable solutions that reflect site conditions, project constraints, applicable standards, and multidisciplinary execution needs.

At this level, the role independently executes assigned activities, coordinates interfaces, and supports timely completion of deliverables while applying established procedures and professional judgment. The position is expected to contribute practical solutions, maintain document and data quality, and support continuous improvement through disciplined execution and active collaboration.

Key Responsibility

• Perform civil and structural engineering for foundations, drainage, grading, support structures, and plant or marine support facilities.
• Prepare calculations, design notes, technical specifications, and engineering documents associated with site development and structural interfaces.
• Review geotechnical data, vendor load cases, site constraints, and construction methodology considerations affecting civil scope definition.
• Coordinate with process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to ensure that civil deliverables support overall plant or facility execution.
• Provide technical clarification during construction and resolve field issues related to layout, embedment, access, drainage, or foundation interfaces.
• Participate in design reviews, site development discussions, and risk assessments related to constructability and execution sequence.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering.
• 4-8 years of relevant engineering, design, or drafting experience in project-based environments is typically expected.
• Strong understanding of discipline engineering principles, applicable standards, and technical document preparation within project environments.
• Ability to coordinate technical interfaces with other disciplines, vendors, yards, construction teams, and project stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of relevant international codes, class expectations, and engineering quality requirements applicable to the role.
• Knowledge of U.S. civil/structural codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and relevant local permitting requirements, is preferred.
• Proficiency in civil/structural engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro or equivalent tools for modeling, analysis, drafting, and design documentation is preferred.
• Understanding of grading, drainage, underground utilities, foundations, and support infrastructure within project sites or marine/industrial developments.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in, Power, energy, or industrial EPC projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with client review processes, and execution support through civil construction is an advantage.
• Experience with structural or civil interfaces affecting heavy equipment foundations, piling, module supports, pipe racks, and industrial buildings is preferred.
• Strong English communication skills for coordination, review comments, and technical discussion are preferred.
