Position Overview:

 

The Project Quality Manager will oversee and implement the Quality Management System (QMS) for Onshore EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning) projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality, comply with industry regulations, and fulfill client requirements.

 

The Project Quality Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction & commissioning and project management, to drive quality excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement quality plans, procedures, and inspection/test plans (ITPs) tailored to each project.
  • Lead quality assurance, quality control, and testing activities during the Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning phases.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO 9001, API, ASME, and other industry-specific certifications.
  • Perform regular quality audits and oversee inspections and testing to monitor project quality and ensure compliance with defined specifications.
  • Oversee non-conformance management and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Develop, review, and approve project-specific quality plans, ITPs, and other quality-related documentation.
  • Monitor project performance through the establishment and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality.
  • Identify quality risks and establish mitigation plans to address potential issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning, and Project Management teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into project processes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues with clients, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project quality performance, including risks, issues, and mitigation actions, to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for quality process improvements and best practice implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead root cause analyses and corrective/preventive action processes to prevent future non-conformances.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of the cost of non-quality and develop strategies to minimize these costs across projects.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements in quality management, tools, and techniques to continuously enhance project quality.
  • Facilitate the Lessons Learned review process and ensure proper documentation and collection of insights across projects.
  • Develop quality updates and metrics to be reported in Monthly Project Management Reviews.

 

Additional Functional Responsibilities

 

  • Develop audit checklists and plan, conduct, and monitor audits, including tracking the status of findings and ensuring close-out.
  • Facilitate and monitor the Lessons Learned process and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist Engineering disciplines in performing random sampling checks for Engineering deliverables.
  • Support Engineering disciplines in the development and review of Management System documentation.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Provide training on quality requirements.
  • Perform Supplier Qualification Reviews.
  • Support to Head of Quality Management in:
    • Support assigned task force activities, as needed.
    • Assist with tender-related activities.
    • Support the development of Management System procedures.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in quality management within the Onshore EPC projects (Power Plant projects experience is highly desirable).
  • Proven experience managing quality processes across large-scale Onshore projects, with a strong understanding of EPC project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of international quality standards (ISO 9001, API, ASME, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Onshore fabrication and inspection processes.
  • Expertise in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, welding standards, and material inspection.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis and process improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
