Position Overview:

As a Lead Layout and Piping Engineer, you will manage, supervise, and give engineering & design guidance to Detailed Engineering Subcontractor to deliver overall and module-wise Layout & Piping detailed engineering deliverables in Topside facilities of FPSO, FLNG or offshore facilities.

The ideal candidate of the position will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, be an expert in Topsides Layout & Piping Engineering & Design and provide strategic focus in the Topsides Piping Design for Conceptual/pre-FEED/FEED/EPCI projects of FPSO, FLNG or offshore facilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce Detailed Engineering Strategies for Topside Engineering & Design
  • Manage & Supervise Detailed Engineering Contractors to deliver Topside Layout & Piping detailed engineering deliverables.
  • Manage interface with all relevant discipline to get necessary information for Piping Design or to provide data to other discipline for their Design
  • Review Vendor Documents – Layout & Piping Deliverables such as Datasheet, Wiring Diagram etc
  • Manage Project Engineering Team (Topside Layout & Piping) - manning and schedule control
  • Report Area of Concerns, Progress and Plan to Project management team and Corporate Engineering Manager
  • Ensure Compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop Project Design Philosophies, Standards, Procedure
  • Conduct feasibility studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, FEED Verification (Inception of EPCI Phase) and EPCI phase Design (Detailed Engineering).
  • Review sub-contractor's deliverables and Validate design and deliverable technical qualities
  • Implement Management of Change to ensure all design change to be incorporated in As-built.
  • Provide Layout & Piping Design support for construction, commissioning and operation team
  • Provide Design expertise for decision making to resolve Piping related issue
  • Ensure as-built Piping deliverables.

 

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Piping, or a related field.
    • Minimum 15 years experience in the offshore or onshore oil and gas industry
    • Minimum consecutive 7 years experience at top-tier FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor (minimum 7 years continuous working experience in the same contractor)
    • Minimum 2 FPSO EPCI Project experience from the beginning of project (Engineering) until the sail-away to site or delivery of FPSO
    • Minimum 1 FPSO FEED/EPCI Project experience as a Project LAYOUT & PIPING Lead
    • Hands-on Layout & Piping Engineering experience (Layout, Pipe routing, stress analysis and material) in FPSO or Offshore EPCI projects, especially Topside Piping Engineering including Supervision of Topside Detailed Engineering Organization
    • Hands-on Field Engineering in Construction phase or Onshore/Offshore commissioning experience is value-added.
    • Well Versed with Piping Engineering Tool such as CEASER II.
    • Extensive knowledge of piping engineering practices, principles, industry codes and standards - as well as an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving.
    • Very strong leadership skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. ability to manage multiple priorities
