Position Overview:

 

Lead Instrument Designer leads a team of designers and Conducts Instrument detail design and drafting under Principal/Lead Engineer or Principal Designer supervision mainly for Topside facilities in FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities.

The ideal candidate for the position will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, be an expert in Topsides Instrument Design, be able to work independently as well as with a team of designers or engineers and with Hands-on experience in Instrument Design.

 

The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based in USA/Netherland/Singapore/India and elsewhere as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Take lead and support in the preparation and development of design guidelines, specifications, procedures, installation standards etc.
  • Conduct Instrument Detail Design, Drafting and 3D Modelling for offshore oil & gas facilities
  • Develop Instrument Design Database and deliverables in Engineering Management Platform and design tools such as Aveva, E3D, SP3D, Autocad etc.
  • Participation in 30%, 60%, 90% model review and responsible for comment closure in timely manner
  • Review the design deliverables, vendor documents and ensure they meet relevant codes, standards and project specifications
  • Ensure all red-line markups and design changes are incorporated in the as-built Instrument deliverables
  • Supervise the designers and coordinate with other designers/engineers in multi discipline environment to ensure deliverables are issued meeting the schedule and quality requirements
  • provide training and mentorship to the designers/senior designers
  • Capture improvement opportunities and lessons learnt for continuous improvement

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the offshore or onshore oil and gas industry
  • ITI / Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical / Instrumentation / Chemical
  • Minimum   5 years’ experience at top-tier FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor
  • Minimum 1 FPSO / FLNG/ Offshore FEED/EPCI Project experience as an Instrument Designer
  • Well Versed with Instrument Design and drafting tools  such as AutoCAD, AVEVA, E3D and/or PDMS/SP3D.
  • Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills
