Position Overview:

 

Lead Electrical Designer conducts Electrical design and drafting under Principal/Lead Engineer or Principal Designer supervision mainly for Topside facilities in FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities.

Lead Electrical Designer assists Senior Engineer / Lead Engineer .

The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based in USA/Netherland/Singapore/India and elsewhere as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future.

The ideal candidate of the position will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, be an expert in Topsides Electrical Design, and Hands-on experience in Electrical Design

This role may require frequent travel to the US, Europe, and Asia. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Under Head of Discipline, Principal or Lead Electrical Engineer or Designer's supervisor,
  • Conduct Electrical Design and Drafting and 3D Modeling for electrical Discipline
  • Conduct  clash detection with other disciplines using AVEVA E3D's tools
  • Participation on 30%, 60%, 90% model review and comment closure
  • Senior Designer to produce design drawings from sketches, notes, Review of vendor drawings,
  • Electrical Deliverable and generating bills of materials(BOMs), lists, and equipment Lists directly.
  • from the 3D model.
  • Develop Electrical  Design Database in Engineering information Management Platform
  • Review Vendor Documents – Electrical deliverables
  • Ensure as-built Electrical deliverable
  • Under Head of Discipline, Principal /Lead Engineer, or Principal Designer's supervision, lead designer must be highly proficient and have Expertise in AVEVA E3D for 3D modeling of offshore oil & Gas assets such as FPSO, FLNG and process plants, marine structures.
  • Experience with other CAD tools such as AutoCAD,  AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
  • A lead designer is expected to integrate designs from various engineering disciplines, such as piping, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation, into a single 3D model.
  • Participation on 30%, 60%, 90% model review and comment closure
  • A lead designer should be skilled in using AVEVA E3D's tools to perform clash detection and coordinate with other disciplines to resolve interferences.
  • Drafting and design knowledge: The ability to produce design drawings from sketches, notes,
  • Review of vendor drawings, and generating bills of materials(BOMs), lists, and equipment lists directly from the 3D model.
  • Lead designer shall be responsible for mentoring junior designers and providing training on AVEVA and AutoCAD software.
  • Develop Electrical  Design Database in Engineering information Management Platform.
  • Ensure as-built Electrical deliverables.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum Diploma / ITI in Electrical or equivalent Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience for offshore /onshore Electrical  design& drafting/ modeling   
  • Minimum   5 years’ experience at FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor
  • Working experience in Engineering Software - AVEVA E3D Electrical, AutoCAD, PDMS, SPEL and AGI 32 etc.  
  • Ability to work with and to communicate effectively with co-workers and should be able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills
