Position Overview:
Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer conducts the Instrumentation & control detail engineering activities mainly for Topside facilities in FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities.
Senior Instrumentation & control engineer assist the discipline in developing corporate technical standards/procedures, workflow, engineering platform (e.g. Instrument design data integration) and keep them updated, integral, practical and fit to purpose with incorporating Project Lesson Learns.
Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer mentors Instrumentation & control engineers in the Discipline.
Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer conducts technical validation and quality assurance (input/output data accuracy, technical appropriateness, consistency, practicality, code, optimum solution and regulatory compliance) in executing Feasibility /Conceptual Study/Pre-FEED/FEED, EPCI Engineering for FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities projects.
This role may require frequent travel to the US, Europe, and Asia.
The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based in USA/Netherland/Singapore/India and elsewhere as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Topside Instrumentation & Control Head of Discipline / Senior person to manage corporate organization
- Support the Discipline to Update and Maintain EPCI and O & M Phase Lesson Learnt database
- Ensure all engineering documents are prepared and developed in accordance with relevant design code, standard and client’s project specification.
- Provide engineering review and support for bid proposal including estimate of manhour and cost.
- Raise Technical Queries towards the client’s project documents, Design basis to ensure all scopes of work and design basis are clarified.
- Manage interface with all relevant disciplines to get necessary information for Instrumentation & control engineering or to provide data to other disciplines for their engineering
- Mentor junior or less-experienced Instrumentation & control engineers
- Report Area of Concerns, Progress and Plan to Lead Engineer and/or Head of Discipline
- Ensure Compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop Project Design Philosophies, Standards, Procedure
- Working in Engineering Software - SPI, AVEVA Instrument, Instru Cal
- Conduct feasibility studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, FEED Verification (Inception of EPCI Phase) and EPCI phase Engineering
- Develop Instrument calculations, studies and deliverables
- Close out comment/punches/recommendation from HAZOP, Vendor HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, 3D Model, Constructability Review etc.
- Review and Approve Vendor Documents, Instrumentation & Control Deliverables and inter disciple documents
- Provide engineering support for construction, commissioning and operation team
- Ensure issuance of as-built Instrumentation & Control deliverables
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Instrument/ Electronics & communication or equivalent Engineering
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with 3 years’ experience at FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor
- Working experience in Engineering Software - SPI, AVEVA Instrument, Instru Cal
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work with and to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills
