Position Overview:
Electrical Designer position for Electrical engineering design activities mainly for Combine cycle, Gas Engine, BESS and renewable power plant EPC Project.
The Electrical Designer – Power is a responsible for developing 3D model, Diagrams and high-quality electrical layouts for global EPC power projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Leadership & Design Responsibility
- Support Lead Engineer / Lead Designer in managing the electrical engineering deliverables across global EPC projects.
- Develop Installation standards, layouts, project drawings, Bulk Material Take off, Schedules etc. incorporating project lessons learned and industry best practices.
- Effectively use Electrical design database in Electrical Information Management platform
- Participate in technical reviews and ensure accuracy, consistency, code compliance, constructability, and optimized solutions in layouts and 3D modelling
- Project Execution Responsibility
- Prepare and deliver electrical layouts and 3D modelling deliverables across all project stages, including Feasibility/Concept Studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Construction & Commissioning Support.
- Prepare bulk material specifications and Bill of material
- Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with applicable project specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements and completed within stipulated timeline.
- Electrical Engineering Scope
Demonstrated capability to independently work on diverse electrical design activities for large-scale Combined Cycle Power Plant EPC projects, including but not limited to:
- Electrical One line diagrams and Protection, Metering One line diagrams
- Develop layouts for IPBDs, electrical substation and outdoor switchyards / transformer yards
- Efficiently manage cable route and tray layouts in coordination with other disciplines
- Grounding, bonding systems and lightning protection layouts
- Lighting, Small power, Electrical Heat Tracing system layouts and DB Schedules
- Ensure compliance with applicable international and regional and Project standards
- Promote adherence to HSE requirements and safe design practices across all projects.
- Prepare and Participation on 30%, 60%, 90% model reviews and comment closures
- Interface, Construction & Commissioning Support
- Manage interface with civil, structural, mechanical, piping, I&C, fire protection, and process engineering teams within a fast‑track EPC environment.
- Participate in 3D model reviews, clash detection sessions, and constructability reviews
- Resolve inter-discipline clashes promptly to avoid site rework and EPC schedule impacts
- Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, energization, synchronization, and handover.
- Ensure preparation and close-out of as-built electrical documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma / ITI in Electrical or equivalent Engineering in Electrical Engineering
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of overall experience in electrical engineering design & Drafting / Modeling.
- At least 2 years in EPC power plant projects.
- Prior experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants is mandatory.
- Experience in design of Overhead transmission line and GIS substation will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in 3D modelling tools AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD, PDMS etc.
- Fluent in English, with good oral and written communication skills
