Position Overview:
Senior Piping Engineer – Power is responsible for executing piping engineering design activities for EPC projects involving Combined Cycle Power Plants, Gas Engine Power Plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Renewable Power Facilities.
The role focuses on delivering safe, compliant, practical, and cost‑effective piping design solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Piping Engineering & Design Execution
- Perform detailed piping engineering and design activities during Concept, Pre‑FEED, FEED, and EPC execution phases.
- Develop piping layouts, material specifications, design calculations, routing studies, and related deliverables for power plant facilities.
- Ensure piping systems are optimized for constructability, operability, maintenance access, safety, and lifecycle performance.
- Ensure all piping designs comply with applicable international and local codes and standards, industry best practices, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Interface with utilities, OEMs, licensors, and regulatory authorities to ensure technical alignment and approval of piping systems.
- Coordinate and review piping stress analysis activities, including thermal expansion, equipment nozzle loads, support philosophy, and resolution of stress-related issues in collaboration with stress analysis teams
Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate closely with process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, stress analysis, and construction teams.
- Collaborate with OEMs, clients, utilities, vendors, and third‑party consultants across international projects.
- Support vendor and package engineering activities, including document review for piping-related packages
Technical Problem Solving & Support
- Identify and resolve complex piping design issues, proposing technically sound and practical engineering solutions.
- Support site queries, technical clarifications, and design modifications during construction and commissioning phases.
- Participate in model reviews, constructability reviews, and resolution of inter-disciplinary clashes
Quality & Engineering Best Practices
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of piping engineering deliverables.
- Apply EPC best practices to meet project schedule, cost, safety, and quality targets.
- Support continuous improvement through application of lessons learned and standardization initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of overall Piping engineering experience.
- At least 5 years EPC power plant projects Experience.
- Proven experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants is mandatory.
- Experience in renewable energy and BESS projects is an added advantage.
- Prior experience of international EPC projects is preferred.
- Experience with engineering and design platforms such as AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD, and MS Office 365.
- Strong understanding of EPC execution methodologies, vendor coordination, and package engineering.
- Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
