Position Overview:
Support Lead and Senior Process Engineers in the development and execution of process engineering activities for Offshore Topsides facilities including FPSOs, FLNGs, FSRUs, Offshore Renewables and other Floating Production Units throughout Concept, Pre‑FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Commissioning and Operational support phases.
The role shall contribute to safe, reliable, operable and energy‑efficient facilities through the preparation of process engineering deliverables, process simulation studies, equipment sizing, technical evaluations and interdisciplinary coordination.
The position shall also support the development and maintenance of Hanwha Ocean engineering standards, procedures, engineering tools and lessons‑learned databases, while collaborating with Hanwha Ocean Global Engineering Centers in Korea, Singapore, USA and other locations as required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Engineering & Design
- Support Process Leads/Senior Engineers in Concept, Pre‑FEED, FEED and Detailed Engineering activities.
- Develop and maintain Process Design Basis, Design Philosophies and engineering calculations.
- Prepare and update:
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs)
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Heat & Material Balances
- Line Lists
- Cause & Effect inputs
- Process Datasheets
- Process Specifications
- Perform process simulations using Aspen HYSYS and other engineering software.
- Carry out equipment sizing and process calculations for:
- Separators
- Heat Exchangers
- Pressure Vessels
- Compressors
- Pumps
- Flare and Relief Systems
- Utility Systems
- Participate in process optimization, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction studies
2. Project Execution & Interdisciplinary Coordination
- Execute assigned process engineering activities in accordance with project schedules, budget and quality requirements.
- Interface with Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, Safety and Marine disciplines.
- Review vendor documents and provide technical comments.
- Support equipment package engineering and procurement activities.
- Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and model reviews.
- Support offshore installation, commissioning, start‑up and troubleshooting activities when required.
3. Process Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Participate in:
- HAZID
- HAZOP
- LOPA
- SIL Assessment
- Design Safety Reviews
- Constructability and Operability Reviews
- Support development of:
- Relief and Blowdown Philosophy
- Fire & Gas Philosophy
- Process Safeguarding Philosophy
- Ensure compliance with applicable client requirements and international standards such as:
- API
- ISO
- NORSOK
- DNV
- ABS
- Class and Regulatory Requirement
4. Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Management
- Contribute to development and maintenance of Company Engineering Standards, Procedures, Checklists and Design Guides.
- Capture project lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support digitalization and standardization of engineering work processes.
- Assist in mentoring junior engineers and graduate engineers where applicable
Qualifications & Experience :
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
Experience
- 5–10 years of relevant Process Engineering experience with exposure to Concept, Pre‑FEED, FEED or Detailed Engineering projects. Offshore FPSO/FLNG experience is desirable but not mandatory.
Software Skills
Working knowledge of:
- Aspen HYSYS
- Aspen Flare System Analyzer / FlareSim
- Microsoft Excel
- Process Engineering calculation tools
