Position Overview

The Senior PDMS Designer owns assigned design/model areas for PDMS / AVEVA E3D 3D model development, equipment and piping layout, isometric extraction support, clash resolution, model review action close-out, and model data quality for FPSO, FLNG, fixed platform, offshore renewable, onshore power, petrochemical, LNG, hydrogen/ammonia, CCS, and other complex plant projects. This role contributes to safe, constructible, compliant, and cost-effective project delivery by translating engineering requirements into accurate 3D models, layouts, drawings, and constructible design outputs.

The position works in a multidisciplinary FEED/EPCI environment with engineering, procurement, vendors, fabrication yards, construction, commissioning, and project management teams. The role independently owns assigned packages, checks selected junior work products, closes interdisciplinary comments, and provides practical solutions based on project and site experience.

The position supports model-based delivery, piping integrity, constructability, and field readiness by coordinating layout, materials, site interfaces, 3D model quality, drawing extraction, and issue resolution across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases. It is expected to maintain strong interface control with process, mechanical, structure, E&I, vendor, and site teams to secure timely and practical outcomes.

At this level, the role independently manages complex work packages, reviews deliverables, supports problem solving, and provides practical guidance to junior team members. The position is expected to bring stronger judgment on technical and execution matters, strengthen coordination efficiency, and improve delivery quality through hands-on project experience.

Key Responsibility

  • Independently deliver and check PDMS / AVEVA E3D 3D model development, equipment and piping layout, isometric extraction support, clash resolution, model review action close-out, and model data quality in accordance with project specifications, client requirements, class/regulatory expectations, international codes, and company standards.
  • Prepare, update, check, or coordinate 3D model areas, equipment and piping layouts, isometric extraction inputs, clash reports, model review action logs, MTO/model data checks, and as-built model updates, ensuring accuracy, revision traceability, constructability, and timely issue for project milestones.
  • Convert engineering inputs, P&IDs, datasheets, vendor information, and review comments into coordinated 3D/2D design deliverables while maintaining consistency between model, drawings, and registers.
  • Coordinate interfaces with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, structural, safety, procurement, construction, commissioning, vendors, subcontractors, and fabrication yards to close interdisciplinary issues.
  • Support 30% / 60% / 90% design reviews, model reviews, layout reviews, constructability reviews, HAZOP/HAZID inputs where relevant, and client/vendor comment close-out.
  • Identify constructability concerns, interface gaps, material or vendor data risks, schedule impacts, and management-of-change items; communicate mitigation actions clearly.
  • Maintain engineering records, drawing/model data, review comments, calculations or registers, and as-built information in accordance with document control and quality procedures.
  • Guide junior team members, check selected deliverables, resolve recurring comments, and provide practical lessons learned to improve quality and execution efficiency.

Qualification

  • Minimum: Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, piping, plant design, offshore/marine engineering, or a related design discipline. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with AVEVA E3D/PDMS or plant layout specialization.
