Position Overview:
The Tax Coordinator at Hanwha Ocean Brazil plays a key role in supporting the company’s tax strategy and compliance activities within the complex regulatory environment of Brazil. This position is responsible for executing the accurate calculation, reporting and payment of the due tazes, ensuring full adherence to local legislation and industry-specific requirements. The Tax Coordinator will lead routine tax obligations, act on audits, manage tax documentation and evaluates the fiscal impacts of operational and commercial activities. This role is key to improve tax processes, identify opportunities for efficiency and mitigating tax risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the calculation, booking and settlement of corporate taxes, including IRPJ/CSLL and indirect taxes such as PIS and CONFINS.
- Prepare, review, and submit all required tax reports and filings in compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations.
- Act on tax processes (IRRF, ISS, ICMS) ensuring accurate application and timely remittance.
- Prepares and submits mandatory indirect tax declarations (eg. DCTF, perdComp, DIRF)
- Design internal tax procedures that foster cost reductions and mitigation of compliance risks.
- Perform reconciliations between fiscal and accounting records, ensuring accuracy of direct and indirect tax accounts.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their operational and financial impacts on the business.
- Provide tax guidance and support internal teams across the organization.
- Prepares responses, gathers supporting documentation and ensures the correctness of tax information provided in audits.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Solid experience in tax operations within Brazil, preferably in the oil and gas or energy industries with more than 7 years in the role.
- String knowledge of Brazilian tax legislation, including direct and indirect taxes (IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, CONFINS, ICMS, ISS, IRRF)
- Experience with tax fillings and ancillary obligations.
- Proficiency in English
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
