Position Overview:
- Develop and maintain corporate technical standards, procedures, workflows, and engineering platforms for topside ICSS and control.
- The Lead ICSS and Control Engineer will spearhead and manage ICSS and control engineering activities, primarily for topside facilities in FPSO, FLNG, and other offshore installations.
- This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing corporate technical standards, procedures, workflows, and engineering platforms (e.g., ICSS and control design data integration) to ensure they are up-to-date, practical, integrated, and aligned with project lessons learned.
- The position also provides leadership in technical validation, quality assurance, and strategic guidance, serving as Project Discipline Lead or Advisor from feasibility studies through to EPCI execution. The role involves mentoring engineers, supporting global teams in the USA, the Netherlands, Singapore, and India, and may require frequent international travel to the US, Europe, and Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate & General
- Develop and maintain corporate technical standards, procedures, workflows, and engineering platforms for topside ICSS and control.
- Assist the Head of Discipline in managing corporate functions and mentoring ICSS and control engineers.
- Maintain and update the EPCI and O&M phase lessons learned database.
Proposal & Pre-Award Phase
- Conduct conceptual and feasibility studies to identify optimal, competitive technical solutions.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Provide technical expertise to support competitive bid proposals, including manhour and cost estimates.
- Ensure designs are optimized for efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
Feasibility, Pre-FEED, FEED & EPCI Phases
- Serve as Project Discipline Lead or Advisor for topside ICSS and control.
- Act as the primary interface with clients, addressing technical queries and clarifying design bases.
- Manage discipline manpower planning and project schedules.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure data integrity and timely deliverables.
- Oversee technical validation and quality assurance of engineering outputs.
- Develop design philosophies, standards, procedures, and calculations.
- Conduct FEED verification and execute EPCI engineering.
- Construction, Commissioning & Operation
- Review and close out vendor and project review comments (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, 3D model, constructability, etc.).
- Review vendor and subcontractor deliverables, ensuring technical compliance and quality.
- Implement Management of Change (MoC) processes for design updates.
- Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Control, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in the offshore oil & gas industry, with proven expertise in topside ICSS and control engineering.
- Demonstrated track record in executing conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC(I) phases for FPSO, FLNG, or other offshore facilities.
- Strong knowledge of international design codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in developing corporate technical standards, workflows, and engineering platforms.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on optimal, cost-effective solutions.
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage technical queries and coordinate with global stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel internationally to support project execution and corporate activities.
