Position Overview

The ICSS & Control Engineer is responsible for overseeing ICSS and Control engineering activities, primarily for topside facilities in FPSO, FLNG, and offshore projects.This role develops and maintains corporate technical standards, procedures, engineering workflows, and platforms (e.g., ICSS design data integration), ensuring they remain practical, consistent, and aligned with project requirements and lessons learned. The role also ensures high standards of technical validation and quality assurance, including data accuracy, design integrity, compliance with codes and regulations, and delivery of optimal engineering solutions.As a technical leader, this position may act as Project Discipline Lead for ICSS & Control in feasibility studies, Concept/Pre-FEED/FEED, and EPCI phases. The role requires strong analytical capability, clear communication through technical reports, and collaboration with global teams. Occasional travel to the US, Europe, and Asia may be required. 


Key Responsibilities

Corporate & General

  • Develop and maintain corporate technical standards and procedures for ICSS & Control.
  • Establish and improve topside engineering workflows and platforms.
  • Support the Head of Discipline in managing the ICSS & Control organization.
  • Maintain and update lessons learned databases for EPCI and O&M phases.

Proposal / Pre-Award Phase

  • Conduct conceptual and feasibility studies to develop optimal and competitive technical solutions.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise to support bid proposals, including cost and manpower estimates.
  • Ensure ICSS & Control designs are optimized, efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant.
  • Review and validate engineering inputs for proposals.

Project Execution (Feasibility / Pre-FEED / FEED / EPCI)

  • Act as Project Discipline Lead or technical advisor for ICSS & Control.
  • Serve as the focal point for ICSS & Control within the project team and with clients.
  • Raise and manage technical queries to clarify project scope and design basis.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless data exchange.
  • Manage discipline team resources, including manpower planning and scheduling.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.

Engineering & Technical Delivery

  • Develop project design philosophies, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform ICSS & Control design calculations, studies, and deliverables.
  • Ensure closure of comments and actions from HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, 3D model reviews, and other studies.
  • Review and validate vendor and subcontractor deliverables.
  • Supervise subcontractors to ensure quality and schedule compliance.
  • Implement Management of Change (MOC) processes and ensure updates in as-built documentation.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Resolve technical issues and support decision-making on ICSS & Control matters.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of as-built ICSS & Control deliverables.

Operations & Maintenance

  • Support O&M teams with ICSS & Control expertise.
  • Perform troubleshooting and recommend optimized technical solutions.
  • Support engineering activities for facility modifications and revamp projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ICSS, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in offshore/onshore oil & gas projects.
  • Minimum 4 - 6 years of continuous experience with a top-tier FPSO contractor or EPC company.
  • Experience in at least 1–2 full FPSO EPCI projects (engineering through sail-away/delivery).
  • Proven experience as Project Lead for ICSS & Control in at least one FEED/EPCI project (including conceptual/feasibility phases).
  • Hands-on ICSS & Control engineering experience in FPSO/offshore EPCI projects.
  • Strong experience in ICSS design, vendor coordination, and supervision of detailed engineering or subcontractors.
  • Field experience in construction and commissioning is an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of ICSS & Control engineering practices, standards, and regulations.
