Role Overview: 

The Senior Data Management Engineer is responsible for managing project data across the lifecycle of EPCI projects, ensuring the integrity, structure, and availability of engineering information from design through commissioning and handover to operations.

 

Responsibilities: 

Engineering Data Management

  • Develop and maintain engineering data structures, tag registers, and master data for FPSO EPCI projects.
  • Manage engineering deliverable metadata and project class library.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of engineering data across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Support the development and maintenance of engineering databases and digital handover datasets.

 

Data Quality & Governance

  • Implement data governance procedures, standards, and workflows.
  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks across project data repositories.
  • Support compliance with client information standards and project data specifications.

 

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering disciplines, information management teams, commissioning teams, and client representatives.
  • Facilitate discussions to align tagging philosophy, equipment hierarchy, and asset data requirements.
  • Provide guidance to project teams on engineering data standards and best practices.
  • Conduct data coordination meetings and workshops to resolve data gaps and inconsistencies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process, or equivalent).
  • 7–10 years of experience in oil & gas or offshore EPC/EPCI.
  • Experience working in engineering data management, demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining project databases for EPCI projects, with exposure to data preparation supporting commissioning activities or operational readiness.
  • Prior experience in FPSO, offshore platforms, or large EPC/EPCI projects is highly preferred.
  • Prior background in engineering, commissioning, or operations is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, or similar data analytics and visualization tools will be considered an advantage.
  • Understanding engineering tagging philosophy and equipment hierarchy.
  • Familiarity with engineering deliverables and lifecycle data.
  • Experience with engineering information systems, EDMS, and commissioning/completions databases.
  • Strong data analysis and quality management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams and international project stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Proactive mindset with strong attention to data quality and detail.
