Position Overview
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support mechanical engineering activities across the project lifecycle while developing practical knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in major energy projects. Working alongside experienced engineers in a multidisciplinary EPCI(O) environment, you will contribute to FPSOs, FLNGs, offshore topsides, and process facilities through engineering deliverables, equipment documentation, vendor coordination, and project execution activities.
This opportunity provides a hands-on exposure to rotating and static equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, packaged units, utility systems, and offshore topside facilities, while building a strong foundation in offshore and plant engineering. This internship will take place from January to May 2027.
What you will do
- Assist in preparing mechanical engineering deliverables such as equipment lists, datasheets, specifications, RFQ inputs, technical requisitions, calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Support the review and tracking of vendor documents, technical clarifications, drawings, datasheets, manuals, and comment resolution activities under supervision.
- Collect, organize, and update technical information required for mechanical design, equipment packages, vendor coordination, and multidisciplinary interface management.
- Support engineering activities related to mechanical equipment and packages used in FPSOs, offshore topsides, FLNGs, and process facilities.
- Assist in coordinating with process, piping, layout, structural, electrical, instrumentation, procurement, construction, commissioning, vendors, and document control teams.
- Support senior engineers in checking project specifications, engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and client requirements applicable to assigned work.
- Prepare meeting minutes, technical query logs, review comment trackers, action lists, document registers, and follow-up records for mechanical engineering activities.
- Identify basic technical inconsistencies or missing information and escalate them to senior engineers for resolution.
- Support FEED, detailed engineering, procurement support, construction support, commissioning support, and as-built documentation activities as assigned.
- Develop knowledge of offshore and onshore plant systems, topside mechanical facilities, equipment packages, international codes and standards, and project execution processes.
Qualification
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, engineering drawings, equipment documentation, specifications, datasheets, and project documentation practices.
- Interest in mechanical engineering applications within FPSO topsides, offshore, LNG, and energy transition projects preferred.
