Process Principal Engineer

Position Overview:

• Lead and manage process engineering for topside facilities in FPSO, FLNG, and offshore projects.
• Responsible for developing corporate technical standards, workflows, and engineering platforms, while ensuring quality, compliance, and practical application of lessons learned.
• Act as Project Discipline Lead from feasibility and conceptual studies through to FEED and EPCI execution, mentoring engineers and supporting global project teams.
• Frequent travel to the US, Europe, and Asia may be required. 

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate & General

• Develop and maintain technical standards, workflows, and engineering platforms for process discipline.
• Support Head of Discipline in managing the organization and mentoring engineers.
• Maintain lessons learned database.

Proposal / Pre-Award Phase

• Conduct conceptual and feasibility studies to propose optimal technical solutions.
• Ensure deliverables meet codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Review and support competitive proposals with optimized, safe, and compliant designs.

Project Execution (Feasibility / Pre-FEED / FEED / EPCI)

• Serve as Project Discipline Lead or Advisor.
• Coordinate with clients and other disciplines to clarify scope and design basis.
• Manage team resources, schedules, and deliverables.
• Develop process philosophies, simulations (HYSYS), and key documents (PFDs, P&IDs, calculations).
• Participate in technical workshops (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, etc.).

Construction & Commissioning

• Review vendor and subcontractor deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Approve third-party studies (dynamic simulation, HTRI, surge analysis).
• Support construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
• Manage design changes and ensure as-built documentation.

Operation & Maintenance

• Support O&M teams and troubleshoot process systems.
• Conduct engineering for modifications and revamp projects.

Qualifications : 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering.
• 20+ years’ oil & gas experience, including 10+ consecutive years with a top-tier FPSO/EPC contractor.
• Minimum 2 FPSO EPCI projects from start to delivery; 1+ project as Process Lead for FEED/EPCI.
• Strong experience in process simulation, design calculations, and safety studies.
• Familiarity with HYSYS, Flarenet, Pipe-net, and relevant codes/standards.
• Proven leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication in English; ability to work with global, multi-disciplinary teams.
