Position Overview
The Project Quality Manager is responsible for leading and governing all quality-related activities across the FPSO/Topside project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, international standards, classification society requirements, and company quality systems.
This role acts as the overall quality authority within the project, integrating quality assurance and control across engineering, procurement, fabrication, module integration, construction, and commissioning, while serving as the primary interface with clients, certification bodies, classification societies, and regulatory authorities.
The role contributes to quality assurance and quality control across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, fabrication, construction, integration, and commissioning activities for FPSO and offshore topsides facilities. It is expected to strengthen compliance with contractual requirements, codes, standards, inspection and test requirements, and company management systems while ensuring effective communication with project teams, suppliers, fabrication yards, clients, and assurance bodies.
At this level, the fixed-term role manages defined scopes, teams, or operational processes with accountability for execution performance, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment. The position is expected to balance delivery requirements, governance expectations, and people coordination while maintaining reliable communication, reporting, and follow-through.
Key Responsibility
- Establish and implement Project Quality Management System (QMS)
- Lead QA/QC strategy across engineering, procurement, fabrication, module integration, construction, and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with international standards (ISO, API, ASME), project specifications, and applicable classification society requirements
- Act as primary interface with client, certification bodies, and regulators
- Oversee quality audits, inspections, and testing programs for FPSO, topsides modules, packages, and offshore systems
- Manage non-conformance (NCR), CAPA, and root cause analysis processes
- Drive quality KPIs, reporting, and performance management
- Lead continuous improvement and cost of non-quality (CoNQ) management
- Provide leadership to quality teams and ensure cross-functional integration
Qualification
- Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience (FPSO, Offshore, EPCI(O), Energy)
- Strong knowledge of QMS, standards, audit, and inspection systems
- Experience supporting offshore fabrication, module integration, construction, or commissioning activities for FPSO and topsides projects
- Familiarity with classification society requirements and offshore industry standards preferred
