Position Overview
Be part of an exciting Offshore FPSO/FLNG Topside project team, supporting Safety & Loss Prevention engineering activities in the management of major accident hazard, design of safety critical elements / barriers for fire and explosion control & mitigation and emergency response. This internship offers exposure to safety engineering principles, risk assessments, multidisciplinary collaboration, and project execution across the full project lifecycle in a global EPCI(O) environment.
As a Safety & Loss Prevention Engineering Intern, you will support SLP activities across the project lifecycle while developing practical knowledge of safety systems and risk management for major energy facilities. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain exposure to fire and gas systems, hazardous area classification, active fire protection system, hazard identification & risk assessments, and human factor engineering in a project multidisciplinary team. This internship will take place from January to May 2027.
What you will do
- Support the development of Technical Safety, Functional Safety and Human Factor Engineering related engineering activities in projects.
- Support the development of Datasheets, Specification and Material Requisition for safety signs, firefighting, and safety equipment.
- Support the development of Project Hazardous Area Classification schedule and layout, and Escape route, Firefighting & safety equipment layout, safety sign layout.
- Support the development of Project Fire Fighting UFDs, P&ID, Line Lists, Firewater/Foam Monitor, Hydrant and Spray nozzle coverage layout,
- Support Project Discipline Lead in update of weekly safety studies and design review action management status.
- Support the HSE action management by providing project weekly progress status update.
- Coordinate the submission, review, and approval lifecycle for SLP document deliverables.
- Follow company procedures, project requirements, and quality control processes while building discipline knowledge and software proficiency.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Basic understanding of safety & loss prevention principles, process safety, and risk assessment.
- Interest in FPSO topside, offshore, LNG, and energy transition projects preferred.
