Senior Accounts Executive

Position Summary: -

The Senior Accounts Executive is responsible for supporting core accounting operations, with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and closing activities. This role ensures accurate and timely financial records, supports audit readiness, and provides guidance to junior staff while maintaining compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.

 

Key Responsibilities: -

Accounts Receivable & Billing

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor receivables ageing and actively follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and queries with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure complete and proper approval of all invoices, credit notes, and supporting documentation.

 

General Ledger & Accounting Operations

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the ERP system.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other adjustments.
  • Maintain proper account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and key balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for all accounting entries.

 

Financial Closing & Reporting Support

  • Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules required by management and HQ.
  • Assist in reviewing ledger balances and identifying any inconsistencies or adjustments required.

 

Audit & Compliance Support

  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain well-organised filing (digital and physical) to support audit readiness.

 

Team Support & Process Improvement

  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff on AP, fixed assets, and staff expense processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls within accounting processes.
  • Support ad-hoc finance projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience: -

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, including hands-on closing and audit exposure (engineering/technology or project-based environment is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and closing processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, high sense of ownership, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills in English; able to explain accounting topics to non-finance stakeholders.
